Wedding invitations and RSVPs in Kenya: a practical checklist

Plan private event invitations, WhatsApp sharing, family RSVPs, QR codes and printed cards for a multi-celebration wedding.

Decide who is invited to each celebration

Build a guest list for each event before sharing links. Someone invited to the reception may not be invited to the introduction. Use individual invitations where access differs.

Make the invitation easy to use

Include clear names, a date and time when confirmed, venue directions, and an RSVP deadline. Guests should be able to respond on a phone without creating an account.

Share carefully on WhatsApp

Send the correct private link to each recipient. Family RSVP links are useful when everyone is invited to the same events and is comfortable sharing responses. Anyone holding a private link can use it, so avoid posting it in a public group.

Print a QR code and a readable URL

Scan a test print on an ordinary phone before producing all cards. Keep the web address stable when venue details change. The website can update; the printed wording cannot.

Follow up only where replies are missing

Review responses against each guest’s actual invitations. Track permitted plus-ones, and make meal or accessibility notes optional. Record phone replies so the committee has one accurate list.
